Bird in Hand Winery
Adelaide Hills, Australia
In 1997, an unassuming young viticulturalist and winemaker, Andrew Nugent, chanced his arm in the emerging wine region of the Adelaide Hills. Andrew grew up next door to Penfolds at Magill and his formative wine years were spent in South Australia’s McLaren Vale. It was here that he honed his craft as a viticulturalist, vineyard manager and winemaker. Since that time, Bird in Hand has become known as one of Australia's top wineries, winning the "Wine of the Year" in 2006. More than 10 of their wines are listed above 90 points including several above 95 points.
